Gran Turismo Sport Review

Gran Turismo is the best racing series on the PlayStation platform, so with such a legacy, you obviously have a lot of expectations from the latest iteration. And yes, Gran Turismo Sport manages to stand out quite a lot, since it’s the ultimate racing simulator that features 177 cars and 19 race locations as well as 27 configurations. The game doesn’t have a day and night cycle, nor does it come with a dynamic weather system.
However, its primary focus is on realism and the experience that comes from controlling a car on the huge open road. The game on its own does have its unique challenges, but it’s extremely fun, and at the same time, it has a plethora of car types, with Porsche vehicles being a welcomed addition to the group.
The game features an arcade mode and a sports mode. The sports mode is where you get to test all of your skills, and the game does a very good job at bringing in front realism as well as various types of races for you to enjoy. At the same time, there’s also online racing if you want to test your skills against other people.
There’s a ton of content to be had here, and at the same time, you also get to see a stellar driving physics engine. This works really well, and the best part is that it can help you feel the issues with your car in case you do any damage. Moreover, the physics are more than demanding than ever, and the best part is that you can feel the horsepower as well.
This is the first game in the series that allows you to change more than just the paint color. Now you can modify the sponsor logos; you can opt for unique patterns and so on. This makes Gran Turismo Sport a wonderful game to play, and the ability to customize your car’s color is a welcome addition for sure. There aren’t performance parts or things like exterior upgrades. This is a bit of a hassle, however you can get new wheels.
There’s no traditional racing in the campaign either, which is a bit problematic too. But you do get plenty of training, the game is very interesting and enticing, not to mention that the uniqueness of the experience is outstanding in its right as well. You don’t have straight races for garage cars either.
Yet all of this pales if you think about the OST, sounds, and graphics. All of these are stellar, and any of the mishaps will be swept away. Gran Turismo has always been about visual fidelity, and Gran Turismo Sport doesn’t disappoint at all. The visual quality is second to none, everything in the game is very polished, and the car models, as well as their sounds, are extremely realistic.
One thing is certain; Gran Turismo Sport is one of the best racing games for you to play right now. If you love racing games and you have a focus on realism and simulation, Gran Turismo Sport will be a blast for you!
